I didn't really know Reg, but I know quality photography, and he had the eye. Herein is a selection of his work; and some photos of him, too.
Note that the slide boxes are pretty unorganized, so I'm titling the posts based on the name of the box, acknowledging there are geographic inconsistencies.
Btw, I once saw this photo in hard copy form in Reg's office and was really impressed by the picture, but I'm not sure it was from Lingua Franca--Reg got both national and international acclaim on numerous occasions during his career, so this may well have been before his loss of vision. I say this mainly because his eyes look so "normal" in this shot. Unfortunately, there is no digital record of the origin of the photo.
Hey, Seth, your eye and your expertise are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteReg would have been impressed by your wayfinding skill--recognizing the Loma Alta location of the photo takes a geographer's eye!
ReplyDeleteThis picture was used in an article in Smithsonian Magazine in the early 80's. We have a copy of it somewhere at the house.
